let them be little..

I think there is a song titled that.. kinda have a tune in my head.. anyways.. i am kinda of extreme when it comes to letting my kids get messy. It doesn't happen that often. I know, I am a terrible mom. I just hate messes and well, messy dirty kids make bigger messes. Hopefully for my children's sake I will grow out of it and just let them go at it more often. They do play outside quite a bit and don't you worry it is usually straight to the tub or at least the sink to wash hands and feet afterwards. Getting to the reason for my post... a few days ago the kids were eating pudding after they finished their lunch and I usually still have to help Nathan when he is using a spoon or fork. Well, that is if I don't want a huge mess to clean up. He can get it in but it just gets interesting. I was feeling brave I guess, and decided to just let me eat it on his own.. and this was his experience...

And of course it was straight to the sink after he had is fun!

Kaitlyn on the other hand is a much cleaner eater, but when she saw Nathan forego the spoon and insert his hand in the cup, she felt the need to follow suite.... however she didn't need a bath afterwards. She was still happy and proudly displayed her somewhat of a messy hand.

I know they won't be little for long.. so why not just let them be little and enjoy it! I will relax eventually... perhaps having a boy is what it takes... because I have a feeling he's going to find the messes, mud and whatever else he wants to play in :o) but i can still keep Kaitlyn a pretty princess right? I know, I know, even princess' like to get messy on occasion too.
