Pre-school!

Kaitlyn started back at preschool last week and is loving being with her school friends. It is always the highlight of my day to hear what she has to say about it when I pick her up. It is funny to me how she acts so shy when I first drop her off.. when really she is miss chatty cathy at home! I don't even know if she talks to her teachers! We are working on it though, I told her it isn't nice to not say anything when someone says "Good Morning Kaitlyn". We practice in the car.. and I say ok what do you say when someone speaks to you...etc. etc.. I think it just takes her some time to warm up.. I know she will. For example.. she loves her teacher from last year so much that when recently she was at her house for a birthday party, she decided to "help her in the kitchen" instead of play upstairs with the other kids! So I imagine she'll be loving on her new teachers and rubbing on their arms in no time :o)
Nathan started mother's day out last week also. I was really nervous about him being so young.. really I guess it was me more than him. He is the youngest in the class but definitely not the smallest. He can hang with the best of them. I even told his teachers to please let me know if he is too rough because he is used to tackling his sister and she puts up with it. The hardest part of it all is that Nathan is used to taking two naps a day (with the exception of Sunday's because of church) and being at MDO obviously he would miss the morning nap. So I decided to take it out and just lay him down as soon as he gets home. He has skipped them here and there so it isn't totally out of the ordinary. For the most part he is doing great he is just very sleepy by the end of it. Now he'll sleep 3 hours in the afternoon.. and today he slept 3.5! He only goes two days a week but I still miss him when he is gone!
Don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoy my free time.. and hope to check a lot of my to-do list! Much to do around the house organizing and changing rooms etc. I have found that I am much more productive and actually a better mom when I get a little time to focus on what I am doing and think clearly for at least four hours in a day two times a week :o)

Here are a few pictures of Kaitlyn before her first day. No pics of Nathan b/c he didn't go that day.. and he doesn't even like his back pack, he about tips over with it on.. now that is funny!

Kaitlyn looks so old to me in these pictures (well, as old as a three year old can look i guess!).. my sweet girl... growing up.

Isn't it crazy how quick our kids grow up. Glad the first day of preschool went well. Jacob starts next week (just one day a week)! Hope your pregnancy is going well. Your kids are adorable... I am sure you are anxious to meet your 3rd! :)

Jennifer,
Great blog, am enjoying it. Just started one of my own after journaling "by hand" for about 15 years.
It is so funny that you made the comment about Kaitlyn rubbing her teachers' arms. She sat between Ann & me in the gym Thursday (after playing for a bit) and began to rub our arms. We thought it was so cute and neither of us had encountered that particular show of affection before. She is a little character and we are enjoying her!
In Christ,
Hope
